Tour Ode by Pam Winger

There once was a gal from Grandmother's Garden
Whoops her name was Lesley - I do beg your pardon.

Over the ocean waves she did go
16 quilters in tow.

First to Vancouver by Air NZ we all flew
Dawn was resuscitated by New Zealand crew.

Then the saga of purple began
A suitcase mix up was NOT part of the plan.

And so onto Oregon we travelled by bus
Our driver dear Kevin took great care of us.

His memories of Kiwis will be varied & many
Especially each time he goes to spend a penny.

Ice Cream & waffles we all had our share
Weight gain & wide hips we just didn't care.

At one activity we were not a flop
Some of these girls sure knew how to shop.

And so fellow travellers we come to the end
For each of us all we have made a friend.

A year from now when we meet, heavens knows
All those quilt kits will still be UFO's.

So our dear Lesley we bid you adieu
On behalf of us all we sincerely thank you.

Spend good times with Barney while you have your chance
For in 12 months my lovely, we're all off to France!!

  1. Thanks Lesley for all those memories. The photo albums have been out again, Ketchikan was a wonderful day visit last year, and I saw heaps with the weather being great as well. Kevin will probably never be the same again but I bet he enjoyed every minute. You have had great fun with a great bunch of quilters and it sounds like you have added to your fan club. Roll on 2010 and France
